Skills, Inclusion & Empowerment – Master Empowerment Program

A project for Master Empowerment Program

Exploring how psychosocial support, vocational training and inclusive programmes create opportunities for women, youth and persons with disabilities in Kenya.

The Story

What does it take to create opportunities for people who are too often excluded from them?

In Kenya, women, young people and persons with disabilities face different barriers to accessing skills, support and opportunities to participate fully in their communities.

The Master Empowerment Program works to address these barriers through psychosocial rehabilitation, technical and vocational skills training, and initiatives that encourage inclusion and civic participation.

Its work brings together personal empowerment and practical skills development, creating pathways for people to build their capabilities and participate more actively in society.

Our Approach

As part of Spread Your Mission — Season One, Emerge Lens partnered with the Master Empowerment Program to document its work with women, youth and persons with disabilities.

Our storytelling challenge was to communicate several connected areas of work — psychosocial support, vocational training, disability inclusion and civic engagement — through one accessible narrative.

Rather than treating these as separate programme activities, we wanted audiences to understand how support, skills and participation contribute to empowerment.

The documentary introduces the organisation’s work through the people and communities it serves, helping audiences connect the programme’s activities to their wider purpose.

The Film

A short documentary exploring how psychosocial rehabilitation, vocational skills development and inclusive community initiatives are creating opportunities for women, youth and persons with disabilities in Kenya.
